New Salvaged Wood Vessels

In addition to our custom work, Square Form is now offering beautiful wooden vessels that are turned from salvaged woods.
The body of each vessel is selected from salvaged Pacific Northwest woods that have excellent figure, and in some cases burl, or spalting. Most of the lids are also salvaged (with a few exceptions). The woods are air dried for at least a year before turning.
Salvaged Maple vessel and lid. I really love the way the lines continue from the vessel over the lid.
Salvaged Redwood with Burl!!!! This vessel is truly amazing. On the bottom you can see how tight the grain is (showing just how old this monster tree really was).

Salvaged Maple with a Bocote lid (not salvaged, Bocote is a Central American hardwood). The Maple has really great figure.

Square Form Business Cards Finished

Briar Levit of Briar Made came up with my logo, and she had the idea of hand stamping cards. I love the idea so I has some stamps made and got eco-friendly chip board and and this is the result.
The front was going to be a square, but this just looks better.
I mixed it up a little bit on the back, and tried many different options.
Walnut Synth Case for Wild Flag!

Wild flag is former musicians from Sleater-Kinney, Helium, and The Minders! It features Carrie Brownstein, Janet Weiss, Mary Timony, and Rebecca Cole.
They are setting off for a west coast tour, and I finished this case just in time for that (as in one day to practice in the case, then hit the road).
It holds Rebecca’s Nord, Midi Keyboard, and her synth module. All of the cables will attach inside the case and come out through a small door that I made on the side that opens when in use, and closes for travel.
The case is made from Walnut plywood. I added recessed spring-loaded handles, chest corners, (4) casters) and butterfly latches.
I am really happy with the end result. So here it is in their practice space before heading off for tour, where it will get some good abuse.

My name is Scotty Cummings and I have been fabricating professionally for over ten years now. I started as an apprentice to Joseph “Steel” Wills in Washington D.C. building high-design custom steel projects.
I now live Portland Oregon and own and operate Portland Natural Caskets. I have decided to open Square Form in response to the custom (non-death care related) commissions that I have been receiving. I constantly design and build modern furniture and will sell those pieces through Square Form.
